Pdx muscle has been our home since Abigail began her body building in 2017 and fell in love with the sport. Growing up Joey always dreamed of owning a gym, now it was time to make that dream a reality.
Abigail brings 12 years of experience running a business and Joey’s passion for the fitness industry makes us excited to see what we can accomplish.
We look forward to continuing to build within the gym community of bodybuilding, powerlifting, lifestyle and athletics. Our trainers offer in person and online options to best suit your needs.

With seven years of experience as a personal trainer, I specialize in powerlifting and have a passion for coaching athletes to reach their fullest potential. As a competitive powerlifter myself, I hold multiple state records and have guided numerous athletes to achieve their own state and national records.
I am certified in several specialized areas, including Corrective Exercise, Pain-Free Performance, US Olympic Lifting, and Barbell Rehab Methods. My approach focuses on developing strength while prioritizing safety and proper movement mechanics.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced lifter, I'm here to help you elevate your performance and achieve your fitness goals .

As a former collegiate athlete I developed the discipline of exercise and nutrition, to maintain a level ofFitness. But as I aged, I discovered that the exercise and nutrition that I apply for success at a younger man no longer works for what I need for today . I started Bodybuilding at the age of 50 first competition at 51 last competition age 70. I’m now 72 and my exercise style has changed,my metabolism changed and my endurance has changed, so I needed to make the adjustments to live a quality life . Now l work for functional movements, flexibility and strength. If you’re between the age of 50 to 80 you will find a motivating environment at PDX MUSCLE . No intimidation, just motivation and encouragement.

With years of experience and having coached hundreds of clients aged 13 to 85, I enjoy helping people of all ages to improve strength, range of motion, joint health, and confidence. As an FRC-mobility specialist, I focus on creating sustainable, effective routines tailored to each client’s needs—whether for weight loss, mobility, or overall wellness. Together, we’ll work to achieve your goals and build lasting confidence..

In addition to being a personal trainer, I’m also a certified nutrition coach, which allows me to offer complete guidance in both training and nutrition. This gives me the tools to support you fully throughout your transformation—from creating effective workout routines to designing personalized nutritional strategies based on your goals.
I specialize in muscle building, fat loss, and total body transformation. I’ve experienced both ends of the journey myself—I know what it’s like to want to lose weight and also what it takes to gain size. That personal experience helps me connect authentically with my clients and guide them with empathy, creativity, and real results.
